Twelve members and guests assembled at the top of Sutton Bank for last Saturdays' walk led by Agnes Farrar. On a cool, blustery day the group walked north along The Cleveland Way as far as the Garbutt Wood where the track was followed to Gormire Lake. After the recent heavy rain the walkers were certainly 'in the mire' on the tracks around the lake. Easier conditions underfoot were soon experienced on the field paths to Southwoods Lodge and Tang Hall. The Group enjoyed a short visit to the church in Boltby before commencing the climb of Sneck Yate Bank via Low Paradise Farm. Lunch was enjoyed amidst a beautiful landscape near Lunshaw House. The return leg, south along The Cleveland Way, was accompanied by a change in the weather with the occasional flurry of hailstones and strong winds. Good views were possible of the snow-capped pennine hills and we had remarkable close-ups of rain spouts passing nearby on their way south. The Group were pleased to welcome two new walkers on our ten-mile ramble.
